Jared Hyams hesitated one day a few years ago when he was about to sign his name on an official government document. What's the point? What do they care? He drew a pretty rough depiction of the male genitalia and... well the story starts there.
This episode of The Rule Book was produced and scored by James Milsom.
This episode features interviews with Jared Hyams and legal expert Tex Moyer (not his real name).
For the curious, Jared's driver's licence is here.

Lesley Williams was sent from the Aboriginal settlement where her family was forced to live, to work as a domestic servant for a white family. She was 17 years old. Decades later, she started asking questions, like where was the money she was supposed to have been paid? That question led her around the world and sparked an explosive movement that still rocks Australian governments today.
